About the role:

At St Augustine's we provide holistic care for 52 residents, including those living with dementia, in a warm, supportive environment guided by our values of compassion, dignity, and respect.

Your role as a Laundry assistant

As a Laundry Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing and comfort of our residents. By ensuring that clothing, bedding, and linens are always fresh, clean, and well cared for, you’ll help create a homely and dignified environment where residents feel valued and respected. You’ll also work closely with colleagues across the home to make sure laundry services run smoothly and efficiently.

Collect, sort, wash, dry, and iron residents’ clothing, bedding, and linens.
Ensure that residents’ personal items are handled with care and returned promptly.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and infection control in all laundry areas.
Operate laundry equipment safely and in line with policies and procedures.
Work closely with care and housekeeping colleagues to ensure residents’ needs are met.
Keep laundry and storage areas clean, tidy, and well organised.
Respect confidentiality and maintain dignity in handling residents’ belongings.

Good communication and teamwork skills to work closely with colleagues across the home.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Previous experience in a laundry, or care home environment
