Office Manager (with Finance Support) – Liverpool

We’re recruiting for an experienced Office Manager to join a successful, fast-growing specialist business operating within the construction supply chain.

This is a key hire for someone who enjoys keeping an office running smoothly — supporting teams, improving processes and systems, and bringing strong organisation to day-to-day operations. Finance support is part of the role, so you’ll need to be comfortable with bookkeeping basics, VAT/CIS processes and working with spreadsheets.

The Role
You’ll be the go-to person for office operations, helping the business stay organised as it scales.
Key duties include:

- Overseeing day-to-day office administration and keeping processes running efficiently
- Supporting teams with systems, documentation and internal coordination
- Helping improve tools/software and rolling out process improvements (including training where needed)

- Handling finance support tasks including:

- Maintaining accurate ledgers (sales, purchase, bank and journals)
- Bank reconciliations and supporting month-end close
- Processing supplier invoices, matching to POs/delivery notes and assisting with payment runs
- Supporting credit control and chasing overdue payments
- Preparing/supporting VAT returns and CIS returns (Making Tax Digital)
- Supporting payroll input and reconciliation
- Assisting with year-end preparation and liaising with external accountants
- Supporting project/job costing admin (tracking costs, retentions, variations)

What We’re Looking For
Essential:

- Proven experience in an Office Manager / Senior Administrator / Operations Coordinator type role
- Confident using Excel / Google Sheets and comfortable working with numbers
- Good working knowledge of VAT and CIS processes (construction environment)
- Highly organised, accurate and deadline-driven
- Strong communication skills and able to work independently

Desirable:

- Bookkeeping / accounts experience (AAT or equivalent is a plus)
- Experience improving systems/software and rolling out process improvements
- Job costing / WIP / project-based accounting exposure

What’s On Offer

- £30,000 – £40,000 per year (dependent on experience)
- Full-time, permanent opportunity
- Chance to shape office processes and systems in a growing business
- Supportive, high-standards team environment
- Potential progression as the business grows
