Bretton Park Healthcare -Salaried GP Job Plan The practice is currently contracted by the NHS England to provide essential, additional and some enhanced services under the terms of the General Medical Services Contract of April 2023. All members of the practice team should work toward fulfilment of these contractual arrangements and support and fulfil subsequent contract changes as they occur. The practice aims to maintain high standards of patient care and to assess, develop and implement programmes to support individuals toward self-care to maintain the health of themselves and their families. You will be required to undertake all the reasonable duties of a GP including surgeries, home visits, medical examinations and all other day to day clinical duties that a doctor in the Practice undertakes. However, you are not required to be involved with other issues relating to the Practice administration such as financial planning and business matters, or any other area that does not have a direct bearing on clinical practice. The Practice is contracted to open between 8 am and 6.30 pm, which currently includes Enhanced Access on Saturday mornings. This is subject to change based on NHSE directions and will be negotiated accordingly. As a salaried GP your duties will include: 1. Providing medical services to patients at Bretton Park Healthcare. Appointments are normally made at 10-minute intervals. 2. Travel within the practice area for home visits when necessary. 3. Dealing with paperwork, correspondence and test results associated with patient care. 4. Undertake duty doctor role as scheduled. 5. Providing choice to the patient who is being referred for Secondary Care. 6. For the purpose of patient care and the Quality & Outcomes Framework, maintain accurate records electronically within agreed Practice procedures. 7. The practitioner is also required to participate in and operate clinical governance methods and systems approved by the Partnership or by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough ICB, e.g. medical audit or quality assurance initiatives. 8. Liaising with other members of the Primary Care Health Team and other agencies as appropriate, to ensure good relationships are maintained at all times with patients, colleagues and other agencies. 9. Carrying out work considered outside the NHS, such as medical examinations, certificates and reports etc where the income is retained by the employer. All fees received by you, by virtue of your position in the practice, shall be paid to the Practice. 10. Maintaining a high standard of care to patients by showing a commitment to continuing professional development and by participation in practice, clinical and training meetings and quality improvement activities and occasional research. 11. Medication queries in relation to registered patients at the practice, working closely with the Practice Pharmacy Team. 12. Work within practice policies on prescribing, referral and other general clinical issues, which the Practice as a whole will from time to time agree. 13. Carrying out other duties, both clinical and administrative, as are commensurate with the position. 14. Support the provision of supervision to GP Registrars, medical students, and other learners at the practice. 15. Attend Practice Meetings whenever possible. 16. It is expected that administrative/desk top medicine related tasks (pathology, results, letters etc) and completion of reports, insurance forms, benefits, DVLA medical reports, (covered in para 9 above), will be allocated throughout the working day, but there may be some variation to this as required by the practice business needs.
