Summary
Department Operations
Job Purpose To work within the Operations team to develop and deploy a continuous improvement
roadmap that will become the Senstronics Business System. Support all areas of the
business in continuous improvement, problem solving and people development in CI tools and Techniques.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Operational
• Develop and deploy the Senstronics Business System (SBS) from strategic
direction setting through to tactical execution.
• Develop, train and implement lean manufacturing techniques across all production areas.
• Lead Process mapping activities (VSM)
• Lead manufacturing problem solving activities.
• Identify, facilitate and support cost down, efficiency and effectiveness improvements.
• Support in the training and development of new personnel and the team to ensure they have the right skill set to meet the needs of the business.
• Feedback to managers on any quality, technical, and or delivery issues that arise.
• Attend functional and business meetings as required and support other departments to meet Company objectives.
• Monitor and improve OEE across the business using lean principles.
• Run Kaizen workshops where people feel valued and heard.
General
• Leading process mapping and problem-solving activities.
• Running cost reduction and efficiency improvement projects.
• Investigating and identifying root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
• Analysing data for performance monitoring (e.g., OEE metrics).
• Training and developing employees in CI tools and techniques.
• Facilitating workshops where employees feel engaged and valued.
• Working across departments.
• Providing feedback to managers on quality, technical, and delivery issues.
• Deploying strategic initiatives into tactical actions.
• Managing multiple improvement projects simultaneously.
• Undertaking any other duties appropriate to the level of the post, as required.
Knowledge and Skills
• Proven experience in implementing Lean and Continuous Improvement practices within a product design, manufacturing, and supply environment (typically gained over 2–3 years or through equivalent practical experience).
• Value stream mapping, implementation of standard work, daily management and improvement of transactional processes.
• Delivering structured training courses.
• Coaching individuals through change to deliver process improvements.
• A form of recognised Lean/6 Sigma training.
• Capability of operating at a strategic level of thinking.
• Effective communicator to all associates in the organisation.
• Persuasive, persistent and focused on delivering results.
• Must be accountable, approachable, and assertive.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to establish strong working relationships and engagement with internal external teams, stakeholders, and customers.
• Process driven, detailed and solutions orientated, with experience of working in a formal, continuous improvement culture and understanding of lean manufacturing tools techniques.
• Pragmatic. Works at strategic level but shows to be ‘hands on’ to facilitate Kaizens and events.
