An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join a leading independent equine practice in Shropshire, offering bespoke, high quality care to a diverse range of patients, from companion ponies and donkeys to top level performance horses. This award winning, RCVS accredited practice combines ambulatory visits with clinic based work, providing access to fully equipped mobile facilities, in-patient wards, a modern operating suite, and state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment including digital X-ray and ultrasound.
The practice supports equine vets at all stages of their careers, with opportunities to manage a varied caseload, develop specialist skills in lameness, orthopaedics, sports horse medicine, and emergency care, while working alongside a friendly, supportive veterinary team. Less experienced vets looking to develop their clinical skills will benefit from mentoring and training provided by senior colleagues, enabling them to grow their confidence and experience in equine ambulatory work and clinic procedures.
With a strong commitment to professional development, the team encourages continuing education, certificate level training, and ongoing support to help vets progress their careers. The practice also holds Veterinary Nurse Training Practice status, ensuring a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment to deliver outstanding patient care and client service.
The ideal candidate is an experienced equine vet with confidence in lameness, performance horse cases, first opinion care, and emergency case management, who is also motivated to mentor junior colleagues. This is a fantastic opportunity for a veterinary surgeon seeking a dynamic role in a prestigious, independent equine practice in Shropshire, with excellent opportunities for professional growth and clinical autonomy!
