Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Permanent | 37.5 hours per week (41 weeks per year – term time)
Salary: £41,490 FTE (pro-rated to £37,802 based on working weeks)
Location: Liverpool, Southport and surrounding areas

We’re looking for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our Therapy Team at Together Trust, delivering high-quality, evidence-based support primarily within mainstream school settings.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, autonomous practitioner who enjoys combining direct clinical work, consultancy, and training, while contributing to the development of a progressive, multidisciplinary service.


About the role:

You’ll be an integral part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team, working alongside Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Advisory Teachers, PBS practitioners, Sleep Practitioners and others.

Your role will focus on:

  • Delivering specialist speech and language therapy at Universal, Targeted and Specialist levels

  • Supporting pupils with complex communication needs, including learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Conditions

  • Providing consultation, advice and training to school staff, families and carers

  • Advising on complex cases and supporting the development of junior colleagues

  • Contributing to service development, audit and clinical governance

You’ll work flexibly in line with Service Level Agreements and play a key role in ensuring interventions are impactful, evidence-based and aligned with professional standards (RCSLT and HCPC).


What we’re looking for:

You’ll be a confident, compassionate and skilled Speech and Language Therapist who can work independently while collaborating effectively with others.

You’ll need:

  • A degree in Speech and Language Therapy

  • HCPC registration and RCSLT membership

  • Significant post-qualification experience

  • Experience working with children, young people or adults with complex needs

  • Strong assessment, intervention and outcome-measurement skills

  • Experience of multidisciplinary working and providing training

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable experience includes:

  • Working in specialist or educational settings

  • Clinical supervision and service development

  • Specialist training (e.g. AAC, dysphagia, mental health)
