Duke Stone of Cornwall are stonemasons based on the Lizard in Cornwall.
Now in our eleventh year of trading, a position has arisen for an experienced accountant or bookkeeper to help take the business forwards.
Reporting to the sole Director and working with a small office based team, the successful candidate with have responsibility for all aspects of accounting and financial control for the trading company and a property holding company.
Depending on experience, responsibilities will include:
• Using accounting software to carry out reconciliation of Bank Statements and all general ledger accounts to ensure trial balance accuracy
• Management of the accounts payable process to include the processing of invoices, reconciliation of balances and making Supplier payments
• Overseeing the stock purchasing process
• Posting sales ledger cash and reconciling accounts and assisting with credit control
• Preparation of weekly management information, quarterly and annual accounts using Excel and accounting software
• Monitoring cashflow and preparing Excel forecasts
• Assistance with monthly payroll preparation and making payments to staff and HMRC
• Checking and submitting quarterly VAT returns
• Assisting with Company Secretarial and other statutory requirements
The position requires someone who has proven accounting experience in similar roles, can work independently on their own initiative with outstanding attention to detail and who has excellent Excel and interpersonal skills.
