Crynodeb
Calderdale Council’s Adult Services and Wellbeing are working in partnership with Active Calderdale to deliver a project promoting moving more and being active for people accessing social care.
In recognition of the importance of partnership working we are planning to expand this project to include our adult care providers to achieve the best outcomes for people who are receiving care and support services.
We recognise the importance to people’s wellbeing of including physical activities in care planning and delivery and want to support our care providers to achieve this.
(Physical activities can involve many things, like, going for a short walk, getting out of a chair unassisted to make a drink and chair or bed-based movements.)
The successful candidate will;
• Support the work of the Project Lead for Active Social Care.
• Work directly with Adult Care providers to improve how they identify the different needs of each person, to improve their physical activity and how to best cater to those needs.
• Use a coproduction approach to ensure peoples’ voices are heard, and opinions and ideas are taken seriously.
• Use a train the trainer approach to organising and delivering a range of training, emphasizing the importance of physical activities and how to implement these in the delivery of care and support.
Our ideal candidate will be looking for a new and exciting challenge and have an enthusiasm and passion for the benefits of physical activity in improving the wellbeing of and outcomes for people receiving care and support.
Please consider applying if you have knowledge and understanding of adult social care provision and some experience of planning and delivering training or workshops either formal or informal.
A relevant Level 3 qualification e.g. Health and Social Care, Extended Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity or equivalent experience is also required
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
This temporary post is open to internal candidates as a secondment but please ensure you have permission from your line manager before applying.
