Summary
Job DescriptionThe Stock Controller provides end-to-end operational support across goods in/out, stores administration, dispatch, and buying activities to ensure efficient material flow for projects within Research and Development at both the Nordson UK site in Colchester and the German site in FeldkirchenRole and Responsibilities Process requisitions and purchase orders for project materials, software licenses, cleanroom equipment, forklift gas, IPA, stationery, and other sundries for UK and German sites.Coordinate shipments and customs clearance; create shipping paperwork, organise collections, and track deliveries to destination.Book incoming goods into the ERP/MRP system accurately to maintain inventory integrity; conduct stock checks and cycle counts.Resolve queries with Accounts; liaise with suppliers to confirm or adjust orders.Maintain updated purchasing records and assist with system/process improvements and best practices.Liaise closely with the Colchester R&D team and wider Operations to ensure materials availability and on-time delivery.Organise, ship, and track calibration of scintillation counters, weights, multimeters, and dosemeters.Organise, ship, and track customer samples (wafers, substrates, components).Support finished product packing and distribution; ensure correct routing and safe transport of materials between locations.Audit goods received; oversee receipt, storage, and distribution of materials per procedures.Maintain inventory security, identification, and accessibility for authorised personnel.Ensure effective operating procedures, space utilisation, and equipment/facility protection.Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised working environment aligned with 5S and Health & Safety standards.Coordinate Servicing of Fork lift truck, in conjunction with facilities manageSkills and Qualifications Reasonable level of education (e.g., GCSEs/A-levels or equivalent).Recent experience in dispatch or purchasing within a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with dispatch documentation.Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) to a basic/intermediate level.Certificates for manual handling are preferredHands-on experience with MRP/ERP software (e.g., EFACS, SAP) is preferred.Strong organisation and ability to prioritise workloads; meet tight deadlines under pressure.Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.Proactive, flexible, and able to act on own initiative to resolve unexpected problems.Good communication skills; comfortable collaborating across teams.Team player with a strong commitment to contributing expertise and following leadership directives where appropriate.Benefits We offer a flexible work schedule, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for growth and development.
