Join us as a Hearing Centre Casework Manager within the Office of the Traffic Commissioner. You’ll manage complex Public Inquiry casework and other hearings, ensuring all processes meet legislative timescales. This role involves providing case management support, mentoring, and coaching to Casework Officers to improve quality and standards. You’ll work closely with Traffic Commissioners and OTC colleagues across hearing centres, playing a key role in the licensing and regulation of operators, drivers, and public service vehicles.
Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
- Preparation and management of public inquiry and other hearing cases to be heard by TCs.
- Ensuring that letters calling parties to the hearings, and evidence bundles are completed in accordance with the Statutory Documents, operating instructions, and service level agreement (SLA).
- Ensuring that actions arising from hearings are progressed, a clear record is made of the outcome and cases are referred to the relevant OTC teams as appropriate.
- Make, and progress, evidence-based decisions on cases under the delegated authority provided by the TCs in accordance with the Statutory Documents and Operating Instructions.
- Attending meetings, both with and on behalf of the TC, with a variety of stakeholders to include operators, industry representatives and enforcement agencies.
- Drafting responses to letters received from stakeholders providing advice and guidance as required.
- Working in collaboration with colleagues across all functions for the good of the OTC and DVSA and to create a high performing and well-respected Agency.
