Structured Cabling Engineer (019jc) – Bristol – up to £40k+ Benefits

My client was established in 1994 and is a leader in the delivery of high-quality passive cabling solutions for the defence and other sectors and they are currently seeking additional engineers to join their established team, and you will ideally based in the Bristol region.

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.

You will be reporting to the Engineering Manager, and your role will be to work on internal and external copper and fibre cabling installations, install, terminate, and test cabling to the highest standards as well as deploy containment systems such as conduit, trunking, tray, and basket

You will be working in a variety of environments offices, manufacturing plants, construction sites, and data centres and with occasionally travel and stay overnight as needed.

They are looking for dependable, enthusiastic engineers to join their core delivery team at Level 1, 2, or 3.

Key Responsibilities(L1):
• Install, terminate, and test Cat6/Cat6a and fibre cabling
• Carry out containment and pathway installations
• Diagnose and rectify faults in structured cabling systems
• Install Wi-Fi access points, UPS units, and related equipment
• Follow all safety standards, risk assessments, and method statements
• Complete job documentation to company standards
• Support wider business operations as needed

For Senior Levels (L2/L3):
• Create and manage site-specific risk assessments and method statements
• Oversee project delivery to deadlines
• Conduct site surveys and produce technical documentation
• Liaise with clients and provide regular updates
• Recommend solutions and assist with project change control

To be eligible for these roles you will need the following:
Essential:
• CSCS/ECS site card
• Full UK driving licence
• Industry training (IPAF, PASMA)
• Strong technical understanding of data/fibre installations
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
• Flexible, organised, and detail-oriented

Desirable:
• SC Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
• 3+ years’ experience in structured cabling installations
• CNET CNCI qualification
• Experience in defence, manufacturing, or data centre environments
• Knowledge of JSP453, Tempest/Security regulations

The ideal candidates would be individuals who have structured cabling experience behind them, i.e. working in for Data Centres, on new build or renovations of office and/or commercial sites and have experience of working on Copper and Fibre installations.

In return they are offering a good starting salary circa £25 – 40k depending on your experience and knowledge, 40 hrs weeks, 22 days holiday + bank holidays, company vehicle (Business use only), company pension (4% employer contributions), Life assurance, 24/7 GP access via GP24, as well as other benefits. They are also offering ongoing skills training, structured training and development within the company as it is owned as an employee ownership trust.
