Salary: £38,805 - £58,404 per year + TLR1B (£12,516)
Contract: Temp to Perm or Perm (Decided at interview)
A high‑performing secondary school, recently graded 'Good' by Ofsted, is seeking a dynamic and committed Head of Science - or an experienced Science Teacher ready to step confidently into a leadership role. The school's Science Department is well‑resourced, forward‑thinking, and supported by a collaborative team who are passionate about delivering high‑quality teaching and learning across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
About the Role
- Lead and inspire the Science Department, driving high standards across KS3-KS5
- Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and teaching quality
- Support and mentor staff, fostering a positive and ambitious team culture
- Work closely with SLT to contribute to whole‑school improvement
- Ensure excellent outcomes for all students through strong subject leadership
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Previous experience as Head of Science, or a highly experienced Science Teacher ready to step into leadership
- Strong subject knowledge across the sciences
- Proven ability to raise attainment and lead by example
