Summary
1-1 PA support required to support a child with autism.
The PA role will require providing close 1:1 support to an individual with autism who is non-verbal, ensuring her safety and wellbeing at all times. Maintaining constant supervision, particularly during activities where she may run or move quickly and being able to physically keep up with her pace, including walking, running, and active play. Offer calm, patient, and reassuring support during moments of heightened energy or distress. Encourage positive interactions while respecting her individual needs, preferences, and boundaries.
The individual requiring support is non-verbal, the PA will need to be attentive to her body language, behaviours, and other non-verbal cues to understand her needs, emotions, and potential risks. The role requires patience, consistency and previous experience of working individuals with autism.
Some personal care may be required, when the family feel a trusting relationship has been built. The individual is currently working with the incontinence team, currently using pads but is in a transition period. Female PA is required.
Work closely with family members and follow agreed support plans and guidance
The individual needing support has allergies - Allergy awareness and awareness around how EpiPens are used.
8 hours per week during term time, 12 hours per week during the school holidays. During term time the hours will be used after school (3:30pm) for 2 to 3 hours. Mondays, Thursdays and Friday (could be subject to change)
