The Gallery Assistant is part of our front of house team, who act as the first point of contact to our visitors, and enable MIMA to deliver its exhibitions and programmes to our public every day.
In this recruitment we are looking for - 5 x Zero hour contracts and 1 x 0.3FTE (11.10 hours a week)
We encourage applicants with an enthusiasm for the arts and understand the impact of the arts within our local community. Applicants will also have a strong understanding of the importance of delivering the highest quality visitor and customer service, so that a visit to MIMA can inspire all our users in their everyday lives.
Demonstrating a passion for our exhibition and public programme is essential, in order to pro-actively engage with visitors and invigilate our spaces, conducting day-to-day duties to the highest possible standard.
The front of house team conduct a variety of tasks, from supporting the running of the gallery, monitoring security, and reporting on the day-to-day management of the venue. We also encourage applicants with basic DIY skills, in order to support our technical team during our exhibition change overs.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, engaging and approachable individual who loves to work with people, and is motivated by the work that galleries and museums do to improve the lives of the people in our local community.

The position we are filling is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a satisfactory DBS disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required as part of our clearance procedures.
Please be advised that due to the minimum salary thresholds imposed by the UKVI, this post will not qualify for University sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa route.
