Your new role
In this part‑time position (20 hours per week), you will focus on creating and developing early-stage sales opportunities. Acting as the initial point of contact for prospective clients, you will research target organisations, identify relevant decision-makers, and introduce the company's engineering and machinery-related services through structured outreach activity.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Mapping potential customers across engineering, manufacturing, and industrial sectors
- Building a well-organised pipeline and maintaining accurate records of prospects and contacts
- Identifying key individuals within maintenance, engineering, operations, or procurement functions
- Making outbound calls and issuing follow‑up emails to showcase the company's capabilities
- Generating interest in machinery installation projects, asset reliability and condition monitoring services, and ongoing engineering support
- Conducting regular follow‑ups to maintain engagement and move prospects through the pipeline
- Updating internal systems with activity, outcomes and next recommended steps
- Collaborating with internal teams to pass on qualified, ready-to-progress opportunities
What you'll need to succeed
Essential:
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage professionally over the phone
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your workload independently
- Previous experience in B2B lead generation, business development or a comparable role
- Ability to support the creation and delivery of email marketing and outreach campaigns
Desirable:
- An understanding of engineering, manufacturing, machinery, or technical services (full training will be provided)
- Experience working with CRM systems or maintaining structured sales databases
- Awareness of branding, marketing, and engagement principles
What you'll get in return
- Part‑time salary of £28,000-£30,000 pro rata (DOE)
- Flexibility in working hours
- Options for hybrid, office‑based, or home-working arrangements
- Exposure to high-value technical projects and specialist engineering services
- A clear route to progress into Account Management as your understanding of the sector grows
- A supportive, collaborative environment within a growing engineering-focused organisation
