Consents & Environment Manager - Major Infrastructure Projects

Location: Scotland (Hybrid Working)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6 months (with potential extension)
Rate: £85-£100 per hour (Inside IR35 via PAYE Umbrella)
Working Week: 37 hours
Clearance: BPSS + Medical Questionnaire + Proof of Right to Work in the UK
Site Presence: Approx. 50% (North of Scotland)

About the Role

We're looking for a Consents & Environment Manager to join a high-profile infrastructure programme in Scotland. This is a delivery-focused role where you'll take ownership of environmental compliance and consents management to keep critical projects on track.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on consents discharge, environmental licensing, and preparation of contract specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and internal environmental obligations.
  • Manage multiple consultancy contracts for EnvCoW support and post-planning surveys.
  • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, statutory bodies, and contractors.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure environmental and planning consent compliance.
  • Drive sustainability and regulatory excellence across project teams.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven project management experience in major infrastructure projects.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
  • Degree in Environmental discipline (postgraduate preferred) and membership of a relevant professional body desirable.
  • Experience in environmental consultancy or consenting for large-scale projects.
