Part time secondment opportunity 0.4 FTE
Start date: April 2026 or earlier if possible
The Education Achievement Service is seeking to second a highly practicing effective teacher to the post of Professional Learning Partner (Primary: Maths and Numeracy) to pilot a new role within the service.
Working as part of the wider school improvement and professional learning team, the successful candidate will be responsible for helping raise standards of teaching and learning in schools, with a particular focus on science and technology in the primary phase. Individual applicants will need to have a proven track record of excellent teaching in science and technology, which has led to improved standards, and of implementing effective strategies which have raised outcomes in science and technology across the whole school.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a deep understanding of the requirements of the Curriculum for Wales, progression in learning, and the integral role of Mathematics and Numeracy within the Areas of Learning and Experience. They will be able to articulate approaches that lead to high quality learning for all learners and provide well-crafted demonstration lessons and coaching in support of ensuring learner progression. They will need to communicate a genuine desire to develop the practice of others, facilitate school to school collaboration and lead on initiatives supporting national priorities in education and facilitate networks sharing effective practice.
