We currently have an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Arboretum Inclusion Key Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our most vulnerable students within one of Sidney Stringer Academy's alternative learning spaces. This role focuses on providing targeted intervention, trauma-informed support, and educational continuity for students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs who require additional support to access mainstream education. The postholder will work as part of a dedicated team to create a nurturing, structured environment that enables students to re-engage with learning, develop essential life skills, and successfully transition back into traditional classrooms and spaces where appropriate.Job requirements
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and mathematics (grade C/4 or above)Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Youth Work, Children’s Workforce, or equivalent relevant fieldWillingness to undertake training in trauma-informed practice, behaviour management, and safeguardingExperience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or those at risk of exclusion
Experience delivering small-group or 1:1 interventions.
Awareness of the barriers to learning faced by students with SEMH needs
Resilience and emotional stability when working with complex and challenging behaviour
