Summary
To assist in the delivery of a high standard of patient care. Supporting the nursing staff and consultants in diagnostic procedures such as flexible cystoscopy, trans-perineal biopsies, flow studies, outpatient clinics. You will be trained in the decontamination of equipment, using sterile and non sterile technique. You will be involved in ordering supplies where necessary, helping to ensure smooth running of the department. When fully trained there will be the opportunity to work more autonomously. Communicate effectively and sensitively with patients, relatives and colleagues, referring to senior staff as necessary. Answer the telephone and relay messages accurately. Welcome patients and visitors in a professional, friendly and helpful manner. Work effectively as a member of the team, offering support to colleagues and requesting assistance as necessary. Record care given accurately, legibly, completely and concisely.
