As a Catering Assistant with ISS UK, you will play an important role in supporting our catering operation within a Primary or Secondary school.
Working as part of a friendly and dedicated kitchen team, you will assist with the preparation and service of lunches, helping to ensure meals are delivered efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
Your duties will include basic food preparation and cooking, setting up and clearing the dining area, serving ready-to-eat meals, and completing cleaning and washing-up tasks.
You will provide excellent customer service, maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety, and ensure kitchen equipment and service items are cleaned and well maintained.
The Role
Work as part of a friendly and motivated kitchen team
Assist with basic food preparation and cooking under the direction of the Cook or Catering Manager
Serve meals to a high standard, ensuring excellent quality, presentation, and customer care
Set up and prepare the dining area, including tables, chairs, and service equipment
Monitor and record food storage and serving temperatures in line with food safety requirements
Clear dining areas, including removal of used dishes and cutlery
Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and Health & Safety at all times
Deliver meals promptly in line with service standards
Build positive working relationships with colleagues and customers
About You
Enthusiastic approach to work
Catering experience is preferred - but a positive, can-do attitude is essential
Good understanding of the principals of food hygiene
You can follow instructions but are not scared to make your own decisions for what's best for the customer
Making sure the customer come first, ensuring their experience is an exceptional one one
