As a Sister / Charge Nurse at our Guilford Hospital , you're registered with the appropriate governing body and you have the relevant qualifications and experience, including NMC. With excellent leadership skills, you hold post-registration experience in care of patients, pre and post operatively, in everything from Cardiac to Colorectal, Orthopaedic, ENT, Gynae and Urology. As the oncology sister you will be; Responsible for ensuring we provide exemplary care for patients undergoing cancer treatment. Working with the Lead Cancer Nurse to education and support both patients and staff. You will be responsible for the supervision and teaching of staff within the clinical area supporting the hospital management team in providing clinical leadership. Have experience in the administration of SACT supported by a recognized university accredited course Experience across Cancer/Oncology Nursing, providing evidence of the understanding of cancer and its treatment and the effects on patients and family Be an effective communicator with patients and key stakeholders. Comprehensive clinical expertise and knowledge of current professional practice and cancer policy requirements Actively contribute to the ongoing improvement of quality information for patients and carers ensuring this is accessible, informative and that there are mechanisms in place for obtaining and responding to patient / carer feedback To maintain an awareness of up to date professional and clinical practice issues and ensure that national policy is reflected in practice Initiate, plan, lead and facilitate audit and clinical effectiveness projects/ programmes which provide clinical assurance and support the development of services from research and best practice guidance Helping you feel good.
