Summary
The Junior Digital Midwife will work closely with the Band 7 Digital Midwife, the Digital Maternity project manager and team, to support the implementation of Phase 2 of the new Maternity Information System (MIS)
They will be expected to work cross-site.
The successful candidate will provide midwifery expertise to the Digital maternity team, working with the MDT and IT to ensure user requirements are mapped and the Maternity information system is developed to a high standard to support excellence and drive safety.
They will work alongside colleagues to help achieve high quality documentation from the existing Maternity information System.
The post holder will provide leadership, training and support in the clinical area to ensure clinicians are trained and competent in use of digital technology.
They will ensure effective communication channels within the MDT team.

Maintain a high profile in the clinical area and be accessible to all staff.
Develop and maintain communication channels, engaging all roles within the service and ensure regular updates are provided.
Ensure timely notification to service leads / help desk when there is a loss of service availability and highlighting the critical nature and areas affected.
Ensure effective communication channels exist between users of the system, those supporting it and senior managers.
To be aware of national initiatives and strategies and feed these into local maternity service development. This specialist Midwife will work alongside colleagues to help achieve maximum functionality from the existing Maternity Information System and work with the IT department to link systems.
Be aware of current business continuity plans to support system failure and ensure staff are fully aware of the plan.
