ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
CV: Required on application, prior to arranging the interview
CARING AND RESPECTFUL: You genuinely enjoy caring for your client to support their daily living, quality of life and their aspirations.
DILIGENT: This includes multi tasking/juggling tasks and prioritising with consideration.
RELIABLE AND RESPONSIBLE: You honour your responsibility to supporting the life of a vulnerable person, who relies upon you.
PATIENT: With a sense of humour helps!
COOKING: You have a genuine interest in cooking from scratch, with fresh ingredients
COMMUNICATION: You have good spoken, written and auditory English skills, as I often have speech and processing difficulties, so it can be difficult to understand me and visa-versa

CAR DRIVER – Handy but not essential
FIXED HOURS:
Saturday and Sunday:
10am-12pm >Personal care/food prep/home chores etc
There will be more shifts available on occasion during the week, depending on your availability/if you want them.
POSITION:
Employed directly by me, working in my home, with the support of social services who manage the finances and payroll. You are only required to have involvement with myself, with a formal contractual agreement and employment benefits (For employees).
Working one to one with myself (Woman/40s), and an ambulatory wheelchair user. Includes personal care, cooking from scratch, home chores and anything life entails. Essentially, anything you do for yourself, you may well assist me with at some point, though I like to be independent where feasible.
Some physical assistance is required depending on my abilities at that time, and helping me navigate decisions when I’m exhausted and my cognition is challenged. Some emotional support and understanding is also helpful at times when things become overwhelming.
This position will require you to learn the ropes as required, be responsible for fulfilling what’s needed, and thinking on my behalf to prepare future items, ensuring my safety and well being whilst you’re with me and thereafter.
TRAINING:
Initial training and shadowing will ideally be done with one of my other carers, to show you the role for 2-3 shifts. We may have to arrange these on different days/times to those advertised, when my other carer does their shift, but I will try to work with your availability too, wherever possible.
For employed people: There are mini, mandatory online training courses to complete during your initial trial period, of around 7-8hrs, in addition to your regular weekly hours. You are welcome to undertake these at home when it’s convenient for you, and will be paid for this additional time.
RATE:
Employed: £15+ p/h | holiday pay 5.6 weeks p/annum | employers insurance covered
Self employed: Open to negotiation (All paperwork and insurances required, some assistance may be provided, ask when applying)
DBS mandatory, at employers expense for employed people
Supported by social services payroll.
