FIXED HOURS:
Saturday and Sunday:
10am-12pm >Personal care/food prep/home chores etc
There will be more shifts available on occasion during the week, depending on your availability/if you want them.

POSITION:
Private care assistant in employers home (Employed directly, not through a company). I have a direct payments account with adult social services which I manage, and s/services handle wages and pay you directly themselves. I manage my own carers and am therefore the employer (For employees) or client (For self employed carers), so you are only required to have involvement with myself.

The position includes spersonal care, cooking from scratch, home chores and anything life entails. Essentially, anything you do for yourself, you may well assist me with at some point, where possible. Some physical assistance is required depending on my abilities at that time, mental and cognitive, helping me navigate decisions etc, when I’m fatigued/exhausted, and some emotional support at times, when things become overwhelming.

Working with myself, a woman in my 40s, in my home to assist with all aspects of personal care, cooking and meal prep from scratch, cleaning, home chores, anything else that life throws my way! Anything you do for yourself, you’ll help me with, though my abilities vary at that time, and I like to be independent where feasible.

This position will require you to learn the ropes as required, be responsible for fulfilling what’s needed, and thinking on my behalf to prepare future items, ensuring my safety and well being, when I’m fatigued/exhausted.

TRAINING:
For employed people: There are mini, mandatory online training courses to complete during your initial trial period, of around 7-8hrs, in addition to your regular weekly hours. You are welcome to undertake these at home when it’s convenient for you, and will be paid for this additional time.

Initial training and shadowing will ideally be done with one of my other carers, to show you the role for 2-3 shifts. We may have to arrange these on different days/times to those advertised, when my other carer does their shift, but I will try to work with your availability too, wherever possible.

RATE:
Employed: £15 p/h | holiday pay 5.6 weeks p/annum | employers insurance covered
Self employed: Open to negotiation (All paperwork and insurances required, some assistance may be provided, ask when applying)
DBS mandatory, at employers expense for employed people
Supported by social services payroll.
