Key duties include: Taking blood samples from both Outpatients and Inpatients. Carrying out general departmental tasks as required. Labelling blood samples in accordance with adult and paediatric venepuncture clinical guidelines. Ensuring blood samples are correctly packaged by staff for safe transportation to the pathology laboratory. Cleaning and maintaining sterile working areas. Completing all required Statutory Training for the role. Undertaking routine stock checks and monitoring stock levels. Adhering to all infection control policies. Assisting in anticoagulation clinics when needed.
