Crynodeb
Looking for a Female Personal Assistant (Adult Social Carer) to assist me, a physically disabled 40 year old female, in my own home in Moseley.
10 and a half hours a week, ideally split between 3 or 4 shifts in the late afternoons and evenings. There is flexibility over when hours are worked but they must be late afternoons and evenings only. At times there will be an option for extra hours but these are optional and not required.
Summary of duties
Depending upon my needs that day you may be required to do any of the following:
- Food preparation: cooking batch meals for freezer and heating up for dinner
- Household cleaning and general household jobs
- Occasional trips to the local shops to pick up a couple of items
- Answering the door and putting away food shopping delivery
- Occasional help with personal care (help with hair washing and dressing only)
- Help with small admin tasks when needed
- A small amount of assistance with caring for pet hamster (no need to touch the hamster)
- Infrequent help with decorating the flat (e.g. Christmas decorations) and keeping it looking nice
- Watering plants
- Occasional help with packing and unpacking
- Putting medication in pill boxes
I am currently housebound but if my health improves I may occasionally need help leaving my flat.
Person Specification
- A friendly caring compassionate nature are the most important attributes.
- Must be considerate of the invisible nature of my disabilities.
- You must be reliable, trustworthy, and maintain confidentiality.
- Must be able to work alone and be self motivated and take initiative.
I cannot tolerate artifical fragrances so it is very important that you do not wear perfume or body sprays to work. If you smoke please ensure there is no smell of it on clothing/skin/hair when you work.
Previous experience as a PA or in a related area is helpful but not necessary.
