TeacherActive is currently working closely with a welcoming primary school in South Birmingham (Solihull) who are seeking an Arabic-speaking Teaching Assistant to support pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL).

This is a full-time role, supporting Arabic-speaking pupils in the classroom to help them access learning, understand instructions, and develop their English language skills.

The role:

• Supporting pupils with EAL on a 1:1 and small-group basis

  
  

• Working closely with the class teacher to adapt learning materials

  
  

• Supporting pupils socially and emotionally within the classroom

  
  

• Helping pupils engage confidently in lessons and school life

  
  Role details:

  • Location: South Birmingham (Solihull)

    
    

  • ️ Days: Monday – Friday (5 days per week)

    
    

  • ⏰ Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

    
    

  • ‍ Role: EAL Teaching Assistant

    
    

  • ️ Language requirement: Must be able to speak Arabic

    
    The ideal candidate will:

    • Be fluent in Arabic

      
      

    • Have experience working with children in the UK (school or educational setting preferred)

      
      

    • Have experience supporting pupils with EAL (desirable but not essential)

      
      

    • Be reliable, patient, and confident working in a classroom environment

      
      

    • Be able to commit to full-time hours (Monday to Friday)

      
      Safeguarding & compliance requirements:

      • Hold a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate (or be willing to apply for one)

        
        

      • Be able to provide 2 references (including a recent employer reference)
