We’re looking for an experienced ESR professional to lead and optimise our Electronic Staff Record (ESR) and related workforce systems. As ESR Manager you will be responsible for data quality, system integrity and compliance with national standards, whilst driving improvements that make a real difference to our workforce and patient care.

You will bring a problem solving approach to your work, enjoy making process improvements and have proven experience of implementing new systems and ways of working in a complex environment.

This role involves working across multiple departments, so strong stakeholder relationships are essential. You’ll use your people skills and leadership experience to guide the ESR team, promoting excellence and growth.



ESNEFT Pay Services function brings together rostering, our in-house payroll and pensions service, ESR, and reporting under one function with a clear vision: Do it Once, Do it Right. We focus on efficiency and innovation, leveraging automation using RPA and ESRGO, and our reporting data warehouse to deliver PowerBI insights.

This post is offered as a full time post, however flexible working and part time hours will also be considered. The post will be hybrid with the main base being The Crescent in Colchester, however there will also be an expectation for the postholder to attend other Trust sites as required.


• Act as the ESR system specialist, ensuring hierarchy, data structures, and reporting align with national and financial requirements.
• Ensure data quality within ESR is maintained, queried and corrected on a regular basis.
• Build effective relationships with internal departments who are also key ESR users to support their usage and increase optimisation.
• Participate in any projects that impacts ESR acting as project lead as necessary
• Manage the ESR team
• Oversee systems security and user access, ensuring appropriate support is in place.
• Provide data analysis and bespoke reporting outside of standard team scope, ensuring the use of system
