As a housekeeper working in maternity at University Hospital Leicester, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for mothers, babies, and staff.
You will ensure that clinical and non-clinical areas are cleaned to a high standard, restock essential supplies, support infection-prevention practices, and assist with the organisation of patient areas to help the unit run smoothly. By providing reliable practical support, housekeepers contribute to the comfort and wellbeing of families and help the maternity clinical teams focus on delivering high quality maternity care.
You will need to be friendly and approachable with excellent communication and organisational skills, as you will come into contact with patients and families.
The post holder is required to use their initiative and take responsibility for themselves and the quality of their work and the service they provide to patients.
Vacancy for this post is available at the Leicester General Hospital. You must be able to work a mixture of nights, long days, weekends and bank holidays.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are hard working with good communication and organisational skills. You will ensure the clinical environment is maintained to the appropriate standards.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Establishing effective relationships and communication with patients, families and multi-disciplinary team.
• Stock up equipment and complete audits.
• Continuing education and personal development.
Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).
We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence
And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.
Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team
This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
