Being a Visitor Experience Officer for the National Trust is all about people – connecting with them, inspiring them, and making sure they have the best possible day when they come to visit.

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £13.75 per hour

Hours/ working pattern: Part-time, 22.5 hours per week
What it's like to work here
You’ll be reporting to the Senior Visitor Experience Officer, working in the Visitor Experience team at Hidcote.



What you'll be doing
As a Visitor Experience Officer at Hidcote, you’ll play a key role in inspiring and connecting audiences with this special place. Your creativity and enthusiasm will help bring Hidcote’s stories to life through engaging events, activities, and interpretive displays.

In this role, you’ll lead on elements of our programming, including family-friendly trails during school holidays, craft activities, and workshops. You’ll also support property marketing by contributing to social media content and on-site promotional materials. As part of the wider team, you’ll take on some Duty Management responsibilities to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

You’ll supervise and support a small team of events volunteers, as well as ensuring high standards of presentation across the site.



Working patterns can be flexible, but some out-of-hours support will be required for events, including some evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Who we're looking for
Applications from redeployees are assessed against the minimum criteria for the role. In your application, please provide details of how you meet the minimum criteria below:
Understanding of visitor engagement, inclusive interpretation, and audience development in cultural or heritage settings
Teamworking and leadership skills to support and develop staff and volunteers
Organisational and co-ordination skills to manage bookings, events, and day-to-day visitor operations
Financial awareness, including budget monitoring and resource planning
Awareness of health and safety, safeguarding, and accessibility standards
Additional criteria for all other applicants:
comfortable with IT: Microsoft Office, as well as web and social media
used to multiple deadlines and managing your own workload
