Summary

Morgan Hunt is recruiting for Porter/Caretaker/Facilities Officer to work with a FE College based in Surrey on a temporary basis. The details of the job are below:
Porter/Caretaker/Facilities Officer
Hours: 37 hours rotating shift – Mon to Fri - 7am-3pm, 8am-5pm, and 2pm-10pm
Pay Rate: £18ph Ltd
Location: Surrey
Duration: 3 months on going contract
Enhanced DBS Certificate required or would be prepared to undertake DBS

Full Clean UK driving licence company vehicle provided covering 2 campus sites

About the role:

• Assist in the general upkeep of college buildings and grounds
• Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
• Monitor and report any repairs or maintenance issues to the Facilities Team
• Inspect and maintain fixtures and fittings within common areas
• Ensure agreed room layout plans are always provided as requested
• Set up and dismantle furniture and equipment for college events, meetings, and activities
• Assist in the transportation of materials and supplies as required
• Greet and assist students, staff, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
• Provide information and directions as needed to enhance the campus experience
• To collect, deliver and accept internal and external mail and parcels
• Ensure supplies including water, refreshment are adequately stocked and distributed.
• Ensure that all areas of the college are secure and safe for students and staff
• Report any incidents or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel
• Perform other duties as assigned by the facilities team

Skill & Experience:
• Experience of working within a busy and demanding environment
• Previous experience in a caretaker or similar Porter or Facilities role
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation / regulations
• Knowledge of security systems and devices
• Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding considerations and the impact of these on facilities, security and site management
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, and experience of using online systems and databases
• Working understanding of COSHH regulations / principles
• Physical capability to perform manual tasks and requirements of role
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
