What skills and experience we're looking for
The role of Teaching Assistant across our Academy is to promote the learning and welfare of students by providing practical and learning support to students, including those with statements of special educational needs, under the direction of the class teacher.
You will work in close collaboration with our Teaching body to deliver the current curriculum to students and ensure all students are engaging with their education. In this role you will be expected to support with the management of behaviour within the classroom, as well as work in a variety of whole class exercises, and on a one to one basis and in small focus groups.
We are looking for an individual who has high aspirations for students, who is committed, and passionate about learning; who has the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘Students First’.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills which will allow them to engage with students and staff and will work as part of an inclusion team supporting students in all necessary interventions. Examples of the work the successful candidate will be expected to deliver are to:
• Take responsibility for a caseload of students inside and outside of the classroom during structured or unstructured time.
• Deliver intervention programs to individuals and small groups, preparing relevant and appropriate learning experiences in conjunction with the department staff.
