Summary
Are you a nurturing and resilient individual looking to support young people with additional needs in Preston? We are searching for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our partner secondary schools. This role is perfect for those who are passionate about inclusive education and want to help students with diverse learning requirements-including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH-reach their full potential.
The Opportunity: Flexibility or StabilityWe have various positions available to suit your schedule. For those seeking flexibility, our ad-hoc supply roles (£85 - £100 per day) allow you to work across different settings with no long-term commitment. Alternatively, we offer long-term placements (£90 - £110 per day) for those looking for a consistent role within a specific school community. These long-term positions often involve building deep bonds with specific students and can lead to permanent contracts.
Your Impact in the Classroom- Tailored Support: Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans), adapting learning materials to suit their needs.
- Behaviour Support: Use de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement to manage challenging behaviours and promote a calm learning environment.
- Inclusion: Assist the class teacher in making the curriculum accessible, ensuring students are engaged and motivated in their lessons.
- Emotional Wellbeing: Act as a mentor and a supportive presence, helping students navigate social situations and build their confidence.
- Progress Tracking: Collaborate with the SENCO and teachers to monitor student milestones and contribute to progress reports.
- Experience: Previous experience supporting children or young adults with SEN (Special Educational Needs) is highly desirable.
- Qualifications: A Level 2 or 3 TA qualification is preferred, but we also welcome applicants with relevant experience in care, youth work, or psychology.
- Attributes: Resilience, patience, and a genuine "can-do" attitude are essential for success in this role.
- Compliance: An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one promptly).
- Eligibility: Right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available).
