Catering Technician Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
The post of Catering technician covers general technician support providing a professional and efficient service to the teaching staff, students and customers Bath College is an inclusive education and training community, providing learning for people with a wide range of abilities from a far-reaching area, from entry level to Level 5 programmes. Key Responsibilities Organise and administer equipment according to the requirements of the section. Ensure resources are in place for training, assessment and verification. Ensure all small equipment is stored and secured in an appropriate manner To meet all the required health and safety documentation for the day to day running of the kitchens (fridge temp charts, closing down sheets, core temp and cleaning schedules) Ensure that the kitchens and preparation areas remain clean and sanitised through the correct use of cleaning chemicals, ensuring all hygiene and safety guidelines are followed and cleanliness standards are met. Ensure all activities are safe and that safe systems of work as outlined in the HACCP are followed Ensure all food is appropriately stored and labelled each day taking account of Food Hygiene Regulations and good practise Ensure all areas are maintained in a clean and tidy manner To ensure that the kitchen and stores are kept in a clean and tidy condition at all times, reporting any issues to the Curriculum lead. To work with the College’s Catering Team around issues within the kitchen (Pest Control etc), shared stores, deep cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen equipment To assist in maintaining and monitoring stock levels within the stores and outlets. To assist in the daily ordering, receiving, storage and stock rotation on all commodities from a range of suppliers. Please see attached for the full Job Description

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Basic food Hygiene Certificate 3 GCSEs (Grade C or above) or equivalent inc. English Language and Maths.
