Hours: 30 hours per week Monday to Thursday 8.45am to 3.30pm and Friday 8.45am to 3pm
Contract: Permanent or BankTerm time plus INSET days (39 weeks)We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our team as soon as possible.Sunnydown School is an oversubscribed and very successful Special School, catering for young men with Autism with high communication and interaction needs. Our experienced team of teachers and TA's are highly versatile in their ability to deliver outstanding and transformational learning experiences in a range of subjects.Job Requirements:Working with a range of class teachers to help deliver excellent teaching and learningCoaching students on a 1:1 or group basisAccompanying groups on tripsWorking with teachers to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resourcesMaintaining a safe and positive environment for studentsCreating opportunities for all students to reach their full potential, irrespective of abilityBreak and lunch duties - 2 x break duties per week and 4 x lunch duties per weekThe right candidate will have:Basic numeracy and literacy skills (essential)A proven ability to work using their own initiativeExcellent communication skills and the ability to relate positively to students and adultsGood IT skillsAbility to work within a team environmentPrevious TA experience or experience with SEN children would be beneficial but not essentialInterview date: ongoingContact: If you would like to arrange a tour of the school, please contact the Office.We reserve the right to withdraw this vacancy at any time ahead of the closing date if there is a good level of response.
