Job OverviewWe have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Achievement Support Assistant to start as soon as possible to supervise and care for pupils throughout Cleeve Primary School. The role will be working over different year groups including EYFS so a full and relevant qualification will be needed, more information can be found within the job description and person specification.The role will involve PPA cover for 2 afternoons per week in KS1, implementing effective interventions.Contract and Salary Details:Hours: 30.66 hours per week, term-time only (190 days)The 2 afternoons for PPA cover will be paid as a grade 7 and will be a separate contract as a Senior Achievement Support Officer (job description attached) all other hours will be paid as a grade 6 as a Senior Achievement Support Assistant. The breakdown of hours is belowGrade: 6, Scp 14-19, 25.33 hours - £17,002 - £18,453Grade: 7, Scp 20-24, 5.33 hours (includes marking time) - £3,983 - £4,327Contract Type: Permanent (for both contracts)Job RequirementsThe successful candidate will:
Have the ability to establish constructive relationships with pupils according to their individual needs.
Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents encouraging pupils to use set strategies to support independence.Support teaching staff with routine administration and, when covering PPA, carry out routine administration independently.Provide effective support to maximise attainment and accelerate the progress of individuals and groups of pupils.
Assist in the monitoring and marking of pupils’ responses to learning activities, making use of the school’s tracking data, completing accurate records and reports.
Use Tapestry software to record observations of pupils and identify next steps.
Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ attainment, progress, behaviour and attitudes to learning.
Contribute to the planning and evaluation of learning and assist in the recording of pupils’ progress.
Under the direction of senior staff, deliver bespoke intervention and enrichment programmes e.g. literacy, numeracy, guided reading, phonics - RWI, language development, motor skills, social skills, emotional skills and behavioural skills, recording achievement and progress and feeding back to the teacher.
Work alongside senior staff to review and update medical plans for individual pupils with specific needs.
Have a full and relevant qualification to work within an Early Years setting.
