Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer (Towcester)
Salary Range: £41,336
Location: Towcester (Full-time on site)
Role and Business Summary:
The Microwave & Functional Materials Capability forms part of the Electronic Systems and Materials Theme within the BAE SYSTEMS Advanced Technology Centre. The role of the Manufacturing Group within the business is to manufacture our products at the Towcester facility.
Typical Responsibilities:
• Overseeing quality processes including goods-inwards inspection, in-process and final release testing, and documentation updates.
• Preparation and maintenance of manufacturing documentation, risk assessments, Dangerous Goods Notes, and chemical inventory records.
• Leading problem-solving activities such as Material Review Boards, tooling reviews, and provision of technical input to design reviews.
• Supporting bids for standard products and ensuring compliance through calibration and asset management.
Your Skills, Experience, Knowledge & Behaviour:
Essential:
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of quality assurance processes, including inspections, testing, and compliance with ISO standards.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and an ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues and implement corrective actions quickly.
Desirable (but not Essential)
• 2 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role, with evidence of continuous improvement activities, production line problem solving, and in-build support.
• HNC/HND or degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
