Your Role in Building Brighter Futures

As a Class Teacher at Puriton Primary School, you will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of Futura’s mission statement of “Building the brightest future for all, enabling every individual to flourish”. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about living our values and making a positive impact on all the young people in our Trust.


Puriton Primary School can be found in the heart of the village of Puriton, just a few minutes from J23 of the M5 in Somerset. We currently have 202 children on roll across 7 classes. The school benefits from enthusiastic, engaged learners who are supported by a strong, collaborative and committed team. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school which gives children a great start to their education.

Our children are kind and respectful towards others and enjoy coming to school. We have strong links with parents, governors and the wider community, recognising the value that this brings to our children and their education. As a Class Teacher, you will be responsible for:

Planning and delivering engaging and high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge pupils.
Assessing, recording, and reporting on the progress and attainment of
Promoting the general progress and wellbeing of individual pupils and the class as a whole.
Collaborating with partner teachers, other colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support pupil learning and development.
Contributing to the development of teaching materials, curriculum planning, and assessment methods.
Creating a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment where pupils feel supported and encouraged to develop both academically and personally.

What You’ll Bring to Futura

We are looking for a dedicated and inspiring Class Teacher who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Has experience teaching within the primary phase, with a strong understanding of the National Curriculum.
Demonstrates excellent classroom management and the ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Communicates effectively and builds strong relationships with pupils, parents, and
Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective teaching
Strives to create a supportive and inclusive school environment where every child can thrive.
Demonstrates a passion for creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all members of our school community.
Aligns with our trust-wide values by bringing a positive, collaborative approach to their work and a willingness to continuously develop professionally.

Start Date: ASAP
Working pattern: 32.5 hours, full time , fixed term until 31st August 2026. The role will initially be in Year 3.
