We are a warm, family-run residential care home in Reading, looking for a reliable and practical Handyman / Maintenance Person to help maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents and staff.
This role offers excellent flexibility, making it ideal for someone seeking part-time work, flexible hours, or a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities
General maintenance and day-to-day upkeep of the care home
Basic repairs, DIY tasks, and minor improvements
Painting, decorating, and touch-up work
Preventative maintenance to keep the building safe and in good condition
Responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner
Ensuring all areas remain safe, tidy, and presentable
About You
Practical, hands-on, and able to work independently
Previous experience as a handyman, maintenance person, caretaker, or decorator is desirable
Reliable, trustworthy, and flexible with working hours
Comfortable working in a care home environment
Friendly, respectful, and considerate when working around residents
