Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate, forward-thinking Cardiology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our well-established Chest Pain Specialist Nurse Team. This is a chance to become part of a highly respected and dynamic service that plays a pivotal role in improving patient care and outcomes across our Trust.

As a key member of our growing team of three specialist nurses, you will have the opportunity to shape, influence, and expand the future of our Chest Pain pathway. This is an excellent role for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated, and ready to take the next step in their cardiology career.

What We Offer:
• A supportive and collaborative specialist team
• Opportunities to contribute to service development and innovation
• A role where autonomy, advanced clinical skills, and patient-centred care are at the forefront
• Professional development opportunities, including consideration as a Band 6 development role for the right candidate.

This is a full-time position, typically worked over four days with one non-working day per week—the specific day can be negotiated to support work–life balance.

If you're ready to take on a rewarding challenge and contribute to an evolving specialist service, we’d love to hear from you!

You will work across both Kings Mill Hospital and Newark Hospital, supporting the delivery of high-quality cardiology services. In this role, you will:
• Manage your own caseload with confidence and professionalism
• Provide expert assessment and management for patients presenting with chest pain
• Work closely with the wider cardiology MDT to ensure seamless and effective care

You’ll thrive in this role if you:
• Have senior-level experience within a Cardiology setting
• Are confident in autonomous clinical decision-making
• Hold ALS certification
• Are committed to continuous learning and service improvement

We are an award-winning NHS Foundation Trust working alongside health and social care colleagues across the county to provide acute and community healthcare services to more than 420,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.

We put the patient at the heart of everything that we do and it is our aim to make sure that every patient is treated as we would want a member of our own family to be treated. At the same time, we expect our staff to be caring, kind and courteous to each other and to look out for each other. We believe that we are truly a clinically-led organisation.

We are proud that our Trust colleagues have voted us the best acute Trust to work for in the East Midlands for seven years running in the National NHS Staff Survey, while the Care Quality Commission has rated our Trust as ‘outstanding’ for care and our King’s Mill Hospital as the only ‘outstanding’ NHS-run hospital in the East Midlands.
