As an Industrial Cleaner you will to maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the food warehouse distribution centre at the end of the supply chain. The successful industrial cleaner must hold valid food colour certificates and demonstrate a strong working knowledge of food safety standards, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
The role of industrial cleaner is critical to protecting food integrity, preventing contamination, and supporting audit readiness at all times.
The role:
- Perform industrial cleaning and sanitation of warehouse areas, including:
- Storage zones
- Dispatch and loading bays
- Floors, walls, drains, racking, and equipment
- Follow food-grade cleaning procedures in accordance with HACCP, BRC, SALSA, or equivalent food safety standards
- Correctly use colour-coded cleaning equipment in line with food colour certification requirements
- Safely handle and use approved industrial and food-safe cleaning chemicals
- Prevent cross-contamination by adhering strictly to zoning and hygiene controls
- Complete cleaning schedules, checklists, and required documentation accurately
- Support internal and external food safety audits
- Identify and report hygiene risks, damage, pest activity, or non-compliance issues
- Comply with all health & safety, COSHH, and PPE requirements
- Work collaboratively with warehouse and quality teams to maintain hygiene standards
The candidate:
- Valid Food Colour Coding Certification (mandatory)
- Proven knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, BRC, SALSA, or similar)
- Must training or certification in food hygiene or industrial cleaning (mandatory)
- Previous experience in food warehouse, food manufacturing, or distribution centre cleaning
- Strong understanding of cross-contamination risks
- Ability to follow strict procedures and cleaning protocols
- High attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically capable of performing industrial cleaning tasks
- Good time management and reliability
Hours of work:
- Monday - Friday
- 06:00am - 18:00pm or 18:00pm - 06:00am
- £12.60per hour
