Are you an experienced BMS Commissioning Engineer with a background in controls, commissioning, and on-site delivery? Have you previously served in the Armed Forces and are looking for a role that values discipline, technical competence, and accountability?

This is an opportunity to join a project-focused engineering environment delivering BMS commissioning on commercial and industrial sites across the UK.
The Role
Reporting to a Project or Technical Manager, you will take ownership of on-site commissioning activities, ensuring systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading BMS commissioning activities on live sites
• Carrying out pre-commissioning inspections of installations
• Addressing BMS controllers and loading validated software
• Testing and validating software points against the Description of Operation
• Diagnosing and rectifying software and installation issues on site
• Completing electronic commissioning sheets and detailed engineer reports
• Coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and site teams to remove commissioning blockers
• Reporting commissioning progress and risks to Project Management
• Ensuring system backups and documentation are completed accurately
• Supporting client demonstrations, handovers, and final acceptance
• Assisting with drawings and software development where required
You will be expected to work with minimal supervision, take responsibility for quality and safety, and support/train junior engineers where appropriate.
This role is well suited to:
• Experienced BMS / controls engineers seeking greater responsibility
• UK military veterans from REME, RAF Engineering, Royal Navy or Royal Marines technical roles
• Engineers accustomed to working in regulated, safety-critical environments
Skills & Experience Required
• Proven experience in BMS commissioning and controls
• Strong understanding of site-based commissioning processes
• Confident fault-finding across software and physical installations
• Ability to manage workload, priorities, and deadlines independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Professional, reliable, and client-facing approach
• Commitment to health, safety, and quality standards
In return they are offing a good starting salary circa £50 – 60k depending on experience as well as company vehicle, 25 days + Bank Holidays as well as a 4% company contribution pension scheme and when you have to work away from home on extended periods, your food and accommodation will be covered by the company.
