Our client, a leading educational institution in Hammersmith, Greater London, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-time Autism Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with autism, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.

As a Part-time Autism Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing individualised support to students with autism, ensuring they receive the personalised attention and resources they need to thrive. Working closely with the teaching staff, you will collaborate on lesson planning, implementation, and evaluation, adapting instructional methods to cater to the unique needs of each student.

Your role will involve fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment, where students feel safe, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. You will assist in the delivery of specialised learning activities, such as social skills training, sensory integration exercises, and behavioural management strategies, all while encouraging the development of independence and self-advocacy.

In this £90-£100 per day role, you will have the opportunity to work directly with students, providing one-on-one or small group support as needed. You will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and parents, to ensure a cohesive approach to each student's educational and developmental goals.

To be successful in this position, you will possess a strong understanding of autism spectrum disorder and the challenges faced by individuals with this condition. Experience in working with children or adolescents with special educational needs is highly desirable, as is a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of those you serve.

The ideal candidate will be patient, adaptable, and possess excellent communication skills. You should be able to effectively engage with students, foster positive relationships, and advocate for their needs. A background in education, psychology, or a related field would be an advantage, as would any relevant qualifications or certifications.
