Rikama Education are seeking a dedicated and organised School Secretary to provide essential administrative support within our educational institution.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations, assisting staff, students, and visitors with professionalism and efficiency. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong clerical skills and a passion for supporting educational environments.
Duties
- Manage front desk responsibilities, including greeting visitors and directing enquiries.
- Answer and screen phone calls with professional etiquette.
- Maintain accurate records through data entry and filing systems.
- Organise schedules, appointments, and meetings for staff and administration.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
- Process financial transactions using QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
- Support school events by coordinating logistics and communications.
- Ensure the reception area remains tidy and welcoming at all times.
- Assist with general administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and ordering supplies.
Experience
- Proven office experience or administrative background within an educational or similar setting.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar)
- Experience with data entry and maintaining organised filing systems.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software is desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good typing speed and accuracy to handle correspondence efficiently.
- Demonstrated phone etiquette and excellent communication skills.
- Clerical experience that highlights attention to detail and reliability.
