Quality Responsibilities: With the support of Divisional Quality Governance Manager review compliance with the CQC standards ensuring relevant databases are maintained and up to date. Support the Divisional Quality Governance Manager in the development of systems to monitor and audit governance processes with a specific focus on the CQC standards and registration Maintain the SIRI action plan database ensuring that the actions have been tested. Develop, maintain, update and implement appropriate policies relating to governance and clinical quality across the division. Assist in implementing systems to identify opportunities learning and sharing good practice creating learning opportunities within paediatrics and neonatal. Work with senior clinicians in monitoring and developing action plans for the implementation of NICE guidelines, and review these on a timely basis. Develop and communicate action plans for national surveys relevant to neonatal care. PALS, Complaints, and Risk Management responsibilities: Support and assist the Divisional Quality Governance Manager in the delivering the Trusts Quality Safety and Risk Management Strategy Create and maintain a standardised process for following up any events causing concern with the appropriate nurse/clinician. Facilitate a proactive approach to risk management through support of risk assessment Ensure all incidents are correctly recorded and coded on Datix and complaints correctly logged In conjunction with the Divisional Quality Governance Manager monitor action plans for incidents, complaints and PALs issues to ensure that all are completed and the learning shared. Be responsible for collating and disseminating information on trends in incidents, complaints and PALs and prepare reports as required for various committees and meetings. Assist with investigation and action as a result of complaints. Education Responsibilities: Lead on in the provision of risk management training within the division in conjunction with the Divisional Governance team. To ensure all staff are aware of their governance and quality improvement responsibilities. Provide advice on governance and quality improvement issues to Consultants, Junior Doctors, Clinical Nurse Leaders, Ward Managers and other relevant clinical staff within paediatrics and neonatal. Audit Responsibilities: To assist, support and encourage an environment of clinical audit across the division. With the Divisional Quality Governance Manager contribute to the development of an audit programme so that appropriately, prioritised audits are undertaken and the findings implemented and shared across the division. Undertake regular case note audits. Report on audit findings and identify areas of improvement and support on actioning these. Be an effective leader of supporting change, embedding a culture of continuous quality improvement, innovation and use of technology that meets the changing needs of patients Maintain a flexible approach to working Attend and participate at relevant meetings appropriate to the governance and quality improvement agenda Keep abreast of current issues in clinical risk management, relevant legislation and governance and quality improvement To support the department and organisation by carrying out any other duties that reasonably fit within the broad scope of a job of this grade and type of work.
