Summary


We are seeking an experienced and motivated Perinatal Mental Health Nurse to join our Kingston and Richmond sub‑team.

The successful candidate will already have essential perinatal mental health experience and be committed to delivering compassionate, trauma‑informed, family‑cantered care.

As a core member of our multidisciplinary team, you will hold a defined caseload, carry out timely assessments, deliver specialist interventions, and work collaboratively with services across the care pathway including maternity, HTT, inpatient units and the MBU.

- Be accountable for a defined caseload and provide specialist perinatal mental health interventions.

- Take responsibility for triaging and managing daily referrals and urgent queries when covering the duty rota.

- Participate in multidisciplinary assessments, offering expert perinatal nursing insights.

- Provide specialist support for women and families in pregnancy and up to 12 months postpartum.

- Work closely with maternity services, health visiting, primary care, inpatient teams and the MBU.

- Offer clinical supervision, mentoring and support to junior staff and students.

• To have a working knowledge of the Perinatal pathway

• To manage individual patient pathways to ensure high quality services and care planning outcomes are achieved

• To deliver, or support the delivery of, highly specialist evidence-based assessment, care planning, treatment and review for women in the perinatal period.

• To provide specialist consultation, advice and support on best practice when working with pregnant women and women with infants up to one year old.

• To provide case management to a caseload of pregnant women or those with an infant up to one year old.

• To take action in respect of Safeguarding Policies and Procedures as required

• Following robust assessment to recommend safe and effective care pathways, ensuring all interventions are fully assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated

• To support in the identification and reporting of deficits within current service provision.

• Provide specialist nursing assessment, advice and consultation to colleagues in all the disciplines in the team.

• To provide high quality written reports of any assessments undertaken, with clear plans for ongoing management.
