Summary

Noel Baker School is seeking two dedicated and compassionate Sensory and/or Physical Needs Teaching Assistants to join our In-School Inclusion Provision. This is a highly rewarding role supporting pupils with sensory and/or physical needs, including those requiring intimate care and specialist health-related support, to access learning and thrive within school life.

The post is term-time only, making it particularly suitable for working parents or those seeking a role that fits around family commitments. It may also appeal to individuals with previous experience in nursing, healthcare, social care, or caring roles, who are looking to apply their skills in a school environment.

Key Responsibilities



Provide high-quality support to pupils with sensory and/or physical needs, ensuring their safety, dignity and access to learning

Support the delivery of EHCPs, risk assessments, behaviour plans and NHS care plans

Undertake personal and intimate care, moving and handling, and support with medical and physical needs (full training provided)

Promote independence, inclusion and positive relationships

Work closely with teachers, the SEND team and external professionals including NHS services

Support pupils during lessons, social times, educational visits and transitions

Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing processes
About You



We are looking for someone who is:

Caring, resilient and committed to inclusive education

Confident in supporting pupils with complex physical and/or sensory needs

Willing and able to undertake intimate care and physical support duties

A strong team player with excellent communication skills
Experience of working in education, healthcare, nursing, residential care, or support work is highly valued. Full training will be provided where required, including moving and handling, safeguarding and healthcare interventions.
