Based at Mullens Farm, Wiltshire

Job purpose The main purpose is the cultivation of land in preparation for sowing of salad and herb crops


Key responsibilities and accountabilities
Soil preparation for sowing – this includes subsoiling and bedforming operations
Perform proactive maintenance, necessary repairs of all tractor & cultivation equipment. Communicate any breakages or maintenance requirements to your line manager
Provide essential operational support and assist with other general farm duties and light machinery operations during quieter periods - these may include, crop mowing, strimming, and netting etc
To adhere to all Company Health and Safety and operating procedures, taking a proactive role in maintaining a safe work environment.
This role will require driving large tractors on public roads and requires a high level of competence.
Employees have a duty to take care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by employees’ actions at work. Employees must co-operate with employers and co-workers to help everyone meet their legal requirements

Working conditions
Farm Based – working outside in all conditions in accordance with the requirements of the crop.
The position may be physically demanding and requires attention to detail with respect to machinery
Given the seasonal and weather-dependent nature, the role requires a high degree of flexibility and willingness to work long hours if necessary

Experience, skills and competencies


Driving Licence
Tractor Driver
Physically fit with the ability to undertake very manual tasks.
A reasonable level of spoken English, must be able to understand H&S related communication.
The ability to work with others.
The willingness to work overtime to complete required tasks.
