About the Role
Working in Nottingham means working in a culturally vibrant and diverse city. We have a strong tradition of working collaboratively and creatively to improve the inclusion of all children in our city, and this is highly regarded by our settings and the Council. Our team is warm, friendly and reflective, and we value a range of professional practices and contributions that help to improve children’s lives.
Our dynamic approach ensures EPs engage in traded and early intervention work, as well as other commitments such as statutory duties, which means trainees gain varied and engaging work experience. All members of the team have time to be involved in delivering training (such as ELSA), projects or other development work within the service and across the City and regularly work together to facilitate processes such as Circles of Adults and MAPs.
As a Trainee EP, you will be a highly valued member of our team and be involved in all aspects of service delivery. Our trainees benefit from a bespoke programme of support and development that will help to balance the various demands of professional training and grow confident and skilled practitioners. Trainees benefit from supervision from one of our skilled EPs. Our aim is to develop TEP skills through a blend of independent and joint work with other members of the team across a range of practices.
We are looking to appoint two TEPs from September 2026.
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
· Currently enrolled on an accredited doctoral training course that leads to qualification as an Educational Psychologist and be entering their second or third year of training in September 2026
· Enthusiastic about engaging in all aspects of educational psychologist practices that the service undertakes; for example, early intervention/ traded work, early years work, statutory work, critical incident support, project work.
· A reflective practitioner who is open to development and working with multiple agencies to best support the children and young people of Nottingham city
- A DBS enhanced check is required for this post.
