Crynodeb

General purpose:

To form part of the Streetcare Team, conducting street cleansing and grounds/parks maintenance across a range of sites within Peterborough and the surrounding areas. Driving vehicles, equipment, and plant as required.

Key deliverables:

Ensuring that all service delivery outputs are achieved during your shift.
Prioritising scheduled work tasks as well as responding to reactive requirements throughout.
Completing appropriate daily safety checks on all vehicles (including tractors if sufficient licence), plant and equipment, and also carrying out maintenance/reporting defects when required.
Reporting and recording status of street cleaning and grounds maintenance tasks, using paper based or hand-held electronic devices.
Liaising with members of the public, other team members, managers and sub-contractors in a professional and courteous manner.
Undertaking all aspects of street cleaning works including scheduled and reactive cleaning using both manual and mechanical methods, litter bin emptying, flytip removal, flyposting and graffiti removal etc.
Undertaking streetcare maintenance including grounds and park maintenance.
Driving or operating relevant vehicles and plant as required. Safely using powered hand tools and light plant in addition to the usual range of equipment.
Undertaking other ad-hoc tasks as required.
Complying with Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.

Requirements – experience:

Must work to and understand the underlying principles of Health and Safety and Equalities and Diversity.
Experience and knowledge of undertaking a wide range of general Streetcare duties is preferable.
The ability to safely drive and operate a vehicle up to 3.5T.
Experience using a variety of vehicles, such as tractors, ride-on mowers etc is desirable.
Experience using a range of equipment and plant is desirable.

Requirements – qualifications

Driving licence up to 3.5 tonne (essential)
First Aid Trained (desirable)
PA1 PA6 herbicide qualification (desirable)
CPC (desirable)

Physically fit and able to undertake manual duties in all weathers.
Ability to identify and recognise health and safety issues before they may become a problem and take prompt and decisive action.
