WF Tech is recruiting a Project Engineer for a well-established aerospace manufacturing business based in Dukinfield. This is a key role focused on delivering customer-facing projects within a technically complex and regulated aerospace environment, using robust and proven project management principles.

The role offers responsibility for delivering projects within a group portfolio turning over approximately £54 million annually, depending on project scope and phase.

The Role

As Project Engineer, you will be responsible for leading major projects or multiple smaller project activities from initiation through to closure. Compared to an account-focused role, this position places a strong emphasis on disciplined project delivery, governance, and the continuous development of project management best practice across the organisation.

You will act as a key customer interface at project level, building trust and confidence through effective communication, strong leadership, and consistent delivery against agreed milestones, schedules, and budgets.

This is a days-based role with flexible working hours, supporting work–life balance while maintaining delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end project management across all lifecycle stages:

• Initiation
• Planning
• Execution
• Monitoring and control
• Closure

• Delivery of projects within a wider portfolio with annual turnover of circa £54m
• Proactive identification and management of project risks and opportunities
• Manage customer relationships at a project delivery level
• Coordinate and influence internal and external stakeholders
• Resolve project issues and manage escalations
• Ensure schedule, cost, and quality compliance
• Develop, promote, and embed project management best practice using established tools, processes, and documentation

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience delivering projects within manufacturing or aerospace
• Strong coordination skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capability
• Commercial and contract management awareness
• Strong risk, opportunity, and mitigation management experience
• Engineering or technical background advantageous
• Confident, proactive, and customer-focused approach

Working Hours & Flexibility

• Days-based role
• Flexible start time between 7:00am and 8:30am
• Finish time between 4:00pm and 5:30pm, Monday to Thursday
Early finish on Fridays, between 1:00pm and 2:30pm

Salary & Benefits

Circa £45,000 salary
25 days holiday plus statutory holidays
Company and individual performance-related bonuses, paid in June and December
